Be Merry

Hi All!  The sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch had me a bit stumped as it has such a strong element in the upper right of the card.  I tend to put more weight in the bottom or center of a card.  I decided to use an angel image embossed in gold as the main element.  I wanted something light for the flag element.  I played around with a few options until I landed on a gold embossed sentiment in a broad flag and highlighted it with a gold colored rhinestone and thin flag of gold foil paper.  It took me a while to get here, but I’m very happy with the results.  This was a great sketch for me as it made me step outside the box and stretch myself!

I wanted gossamer (isn’t that a great word!) wings so I added a little Wink of Stella.  Here is a close-up so show the shimmer.

Happy Stamping,
Dana

  3. First of all, I love the faux gossamer wings (yes - gossamer is a cool word!) and I ADORE that image!!! The broad flag totally balances your design, especially with the gold flag that peaks out of the top a bit! Good eye pal...this is another beautiful creation! Great picture too - capturing Stella winking in a photo is definitely not an easy task!

    1. Thank you Geri! The natural sunlight definitely helps in producing better pictures. Too bad I'm a night owl and can't take more advantage of the daytime hours for photos.

    1. Thanks so much Dianne! I'm so glad you stopped in. The bought the stamp set (angel and sentiment) a few years ago, I think from Amazon. It is by Stampendous item #CRM224.
